Thanks everyone for your interest in my where’s dinghy
and dinghy’s here images which I posted last night. I had just realised that the odd rainbow around my head’s shadow (which moved with me as I took several shots, downhill into fog with a low morning sun behind me) was possibly an optical phenomenon called brocken spectre glory tho it looked more like a like a halo (and I’m not a bit saintly!!).
The atmospheric optics group have accepted the image which the wonderful photographer Ern Mainka confirms is a faint version of a brocken spectre glory … now look at his tremendous example of the real thing in full colour below (which makes me feel very humble indeed) entilted:-

Thanks all for your lovely comments, interest and support. The rest of Erns gallery is just amazing too!

Amazing optical effect. Saw somehting like it once through an aircraft window where the shadow of the plane was in the middle of a rainbow circle for a few minutes but sadly no camera with me in those days.
