wow guys! thanks for that! I’m not sure about this one and am really struggling to get a great take on him – either bored expression , too dark or drooling! hints and tips would be very welcome indeed!! with his lookos I should do better!! cheers and thanks again :)))

Those big brown expressive eyes, that shiny, healthy black coat, the alert ears, that sexy stance, that great necklace accessory…............don’t change a thing…..............What a guy….....he’s all man.
Oh, and the photographer did a fine job of capturing B in all his glory….............You are both stars. :)))

amazing shot with the detail of the leaves, the moss on the tree, the yellow background, and the stance of this beautiful dog make a stunning image. just a smiggin of the front paw cut off is all I can see that might be disturbing to you, but it does not take away from this at all! be proud of this one as it is beautiful.

Oh I love it! He is adorable – and such a fantastic capture – so much going on – and yet he is so perfectly still. Love the colours – great work!

Hey Buster, wht’s up!!. Excellent colours & composition Dinghy. Think Buster just started to move at the vital moment. Maybe not though. My question is this; how close can you crop this one. Are there enough pixels & details to crop in real close & give you that killer shot you seek.
Maybe there is. You just might find your killer shot is here. Cropped in close to give you that head & shoulder shot.

thanks robin! will have a look …

A lovely capture, especially considering the difficult circumstances (I have a black lab cross border collie) and I find myself lightening shadows trying to pick up more detail. I try to capture Jake with the light behind me and use a squeaky toy to gain his full attention (works everytime without the drool). Unfortunately my photographic skills are not up to scratch and are certainly not up to your standard but I thought I’d throw in my twopence worth in any case. :))

thanks so much – the anti-drool tip is inspired! and thanks for you lovely words …your work is amazing don’t forget

I ONCE READ SOMEPLACE, “DARK DOG, LIGHT BACKGROUND”. IT ALMOST WORKS TOO. BLACK LABS ARE DIFFICULT AT BEST. “SHOOT OFTEN, SHOOT MANY”, WORKS BEST FOR ME – YA’LL KNOW THE OLD ONE OUT OF A MILLION THING. GREAT PHOTO BTW.

I FORGOT TO SAY, I THINK THE REASON THIS IS SUCH A GREAT PHOTO IS THAT IT WAS TAKEN OUT IN THE FIELD WHERE THE DOG IS THOUGHT OF MOST. IT ADDS THAT EMOTIONAL LINK THAT MAKES THE PHOTO FOR MOST THAT VIEW. VERY GOOD PHOTO.
