    thanks linda i went out last night to our town bonfire and am fairly certain thats all i got too..LOL and of course was thoroughly spoilt by this stunning display in any case

    cheers my friend for such a lovely comment.. actually i got only about 9 nanoseconds worth of an hourlong display .. its such a matter of luck and random timing… but the most wonderful experience in that lovely setting

    hi thanks jan it was a stunning display.. i think the slight feathering comes from the tiny breeze blowing across and it just started to rain at the final big bang thank goodness… tried again recently to catch the town bonfire night display but without this luck !

    I put up some fireworks and lo & behold some more appear, you’ll notice that I didn’t put any shooting information on them.
    I broke my class rules no tripod, handheld 4 secs exposure on a 4Meg pocket camera without VR or IS. Still yours are sharper and more composed!

    teehee – yes i was trying ,y ‘lucky settings’ 1sec f8 infinity focus at the display the other night with tripod with no joy… so went back to appreciate the earlier luckier set a bit more,,,

    thanks so much rose for your lovely comment – if only i i did know !! fireworks are such tricksy things and we get so little chance to practise… 1 second f8 seemed to be quite lucky – tripod essential but had literally hundreds of discards to get a few shots so it helps if its a long display like this one thankfully was…LOL…
