heads up

I couldnt resist capturing these lovely poppy seedheads but then felt they deserved something more…
So for the very first time ever (!) a teensy bit of texture..
Critique and suggestions would be most welcome and hugely appreciated….
Thanks so much for looking

Lovely! Background is superb as tht one tiny burst of lilac adds some much contrast to the whole image! Excellent composition! Wonderful treatment as it is very difficult to detect!
dinghysailor1 replied
thanks joanne really heartening to hear … I’d worried the lilac would have been too distracting so darkened it a tad.. and think i found a great subtle texture to start on… lichen on a flat rock face with really natural rusts and greens..
Thanks heaps my friend

Absolutely wonderful and the added texture makes it that much more so. I love working with a great photo I have taken by adding some texture or brush effects. I love this. :)

thanks so much karen.. yes it was a lucky first try..using my shot of lichen seemed to just fit the bill.. it was very absorbing to do and i felt it did add to the image rather distract…so will try it again..

Maggie, I was looking at the “Popular” photos RB lists (because we were discussing the effects of the list in a forum) and this is on page ten today. And here you claim to be new to using texture. Heh.
dinghysailor1
honest its my first go! but think i hit lucky with the lichen on a rock i’d taken on another day.. I just plopped it on at 37%and merged..voila! nothing fancy at all.. especially compared with what folk are doing here on the bubble – thanks for the headsup (!) and will go peek at the pop pages.. what a thrill! and boy was i extra nervous in posting it!! what was the forum by the way..? (nosey or what…LOL)
