i know hardly anyone loooks thru an entire gallery…
the middle pages are probably the least looked at… tho i’m not sure about that.
Usually if I like someones art, I’ll look at the rest of it as thumbnails, and if i see more than one other pic i like , usually, i’ll go to the last page in their gallery and work my way forward, taking a better look and maybe commenting or not (depending if i’m feeling depressed or not, if i’m sad i dont usually comment) on those pics that stand out.
same with tees and writing…
anyways, point of this rant is fish. yep fish :)

Okay, so getting to the point… I put the latter at the back of the gallery. last page, as is a habit of mine when adding similar pieces, so as not to clog up that first page with similar pieces…
It was also added to less groups and different ones too, as most groups dont appreciate similar work next to each other (some dont even allow it)
So… and yea i will get to the point here it is.
Is the first pic ‘Endless possibilities’ really that much better than the second?
Or is this more a reflection on the power of features in some groups and/or the power of the first page…
I wonder..
is it a reflection of how many click on a link? (as both pics have links to the other one in their descriptions)
or how many look thru a whole gallery (especially as big as mine)

I’m a bit like you, Jodi, I will will click on the View All Art link, and look at the total number of pages. If there aren’t too, and how many is too many depends on the time of day and my mood, I’ll look through all the thumbnails, looking at and commenting on those pics which appeal to me. If there is a large number of pages, I’ll look through the thumbnails of the first few pages, commenting where my fancy takes me, and then I’ll go to the last page and work my way forward for a few. Sometimes, I’ll go back later and go through the middle pages, again looking and commenting when something appeals to me.
As for your two pics above, I confess, I didn’t see the second one show up in my Activity Monitor. If I had, I would have commented on it at the same as I commented on the first one. I like both of them, the different colours give them a different look. I don’t have any idea why it wouldn’t have received similar Views and Comments to the first one unless it’s because it’s on your last page. Nor do I know why it hasn’t received the same Features unless it’s becasue of the different Groups you put it in. I think it’s just a case of random fortune, although I doubt that really explains it.
However, keep trying – maybe it’s time to move it up nearer the front of your Gallery. Good luck, Jodi, I hope things settle down for you soon.

As for the activity monitor, i swear i’ve been issing new works from people.. but then it mite just be my timing and i dont always have time to go back thru the activity pages and look at stuff…
so i’m thinkin it s all about time.
peoples use of it, lack of it, too much of it, and the fact we’re all globally connected here at different hours of the time and day yet at the same time..
that spins me out, how peeps in the usa or uk are a day behind us here in oz :)

I’ll talk to you! I have no idea of how things are viewed, it’s a complete mystery to me. I have tried many times to figure out if placement, time, or even day matters. As for yours, you put them up at the same time, so I really have no clue. I seemed to have missed both on my activity page, so I am off to look now. Have fun with the little one! :)

yea..its a complete mystery to me too, just like how the popular pages works..wierd. i’ve had pictures up there that had had like 3 views and no comments or faves and yet they were in the popular art category. lmao. and others with hundreds of views and heaps of faves not get a lookin… complete mystery how RB works out their secret formula :)
i just wish some one with heaps of cash falls in love with all of my art and buys large framed prints of everything! lol. imagine that.

i’m just not patient anymore.. and it reflects on how much work i’m doing lol.. those fish pics, i did 6 of them, all with varying differences… the same night i did about 10 other pieces… i cant help it, i’m just flyin thru ideas and they dont take long at all to do… i spend as much time as i can on them but it starts to do my head in and i get bored and have to start on somethin else…
i wonder sometimes what my art would look like, the finalised versions, if i spent longer than a hour or two on each piece lol.
(some have taken a little longer, but not many)
ooh the only patience i have left these days is exhausted on mummyhood :)
yep…i think i’m in a rambling mood… and the kids shows are on..yay, zaffy doesnt look like she’s gonna nod off again anytime soon, tho she has stopped dancing and jumping and is now laying down on the couch… her body clock is alittle out again after she ran a high temp for a few days after her immunisations.. should only be a few days before she starts sleeping all the way thru the night again :)

I started to sometimes rotate what I have on my profile page and lo and behold, those ones start getting views again. Weird, but as for me I tend to try look through everything if I have time when discovering a new gallery, you sometimes find wee gems stuck at the back. Not a scoobie what others do.
