What's your advice / experiences with the other online galleries... zenfolio, Art Limited etc... by dimarie

As much as I love it here at RB and it will always be the place i keep conming back to, but as far as displaying large bodies of work… The bubble just doesnt cut it.
The bubblesite does, to a degree… but the way that it doesnt allow for its own side desciptions on the individual art pages is annoying to say the least.
(what i write down the side here isnt necessarily what i want to be written on the bubblesite, plus with links etc, it gets quite confusing for the unsavvy…)

So… after reading many a forum post etc about how the big boys of RB never intended this site to be used by those artists like me who have heaps of work, I’ve been on the lookout for another one that does.

I’ve been looking at zenfolio, art Limited, Artist Rising, DA… any that i’ve missed?

So here’s where i need your help… because most of these galleries/online pods come with a membership fee, and yea, i’m a lil broke on the best of days so I’d like to have a fair idea of which ones are better beofr ei go and put money into anything… things like..
gallery layout,

reputations,

user-friendliness,

whether able to sell thru site and quality of product…

whether australians are able to buy prints (i’m not sure on this but i think you cant from zenfolio if your over here in oz.. correct me if i’m wrong)

community spirit

option of watermarks etc

prices of prints

etc etc etc…
please help!
will be so very very much appreciated!

thanx :)

ooh ETA…
I"m more thinking of the art side of things, not tee designs as i’m trying to keep that seperate in my head at the moment :) and still have yet to decide whether to try out spreadshirt or cafe press for the tee designs….

this sounds great dimarie…. I’ll be watching this with interest… I love the bubble for lots of reasons but I have so much work and can’t display it properly…. serious stuff that I post is buried under tons of smut and snapshots…. the teeshirt section is so biased it’s not funny…..and it’s just so hard to get real art noticed and appriciated not to mention finding sales….. love the community but it’s not working as a viable outlet to sell stuff….. good luck

thats so it, the community rocks but the layout is not for lots of work, especially lots of categories/genres of work…
it takes so much time to organise everything here and i’m still months behind on replying to comments and features…
and most of my sales tend to be to anonymous buyers so i cant ask them on what they did/did not like about my ‘layout’ that i have here.
to even attempt to promote /get exposure here at RB apart from thru the watchlist i’ve managed to aquire lol, you need to join all sorts of groups and that sucks when it comes to the tick list when uploading :)
and the groups themselves are a mess and remind me of the mops in fantasia…
