Untitled

Drawn using a graphics pad.
This is actually my first drawing using one of those, and it takes some getting used to :)
Not quite the same as drawing with a pencil or pen… :)

this is great espetially for your first graphic tablet sketch. they take a little bit of getting used to it but you’ll be greatfull once your comfortable. Nice work here.

    Thanx Lara :)
I think I’ll always prefer drawing with a pen or a pencil than the graphics pad.. I have to utilise a lot more patience with the graphics pad plus it kinda annoys me cos I’m nowhere near as good at it as I am with pens or pencils, and after teaching myself how to draw with the mouse in ps, well its different heaps to that aswell lol, so in all new territory.. but yes, I am looking forward to getting the hang of it!

If this is your first….. well enough said.
you are quite remarkable, love these sketches. love the way you’ve added dimension by blurring the hairs at the back, amazing effect, really makes this even more stunning.

Yep tis my first attempt with the graphics pad… well, I do admit, I did a few squiggly lines and circles very first thing after I unpacked it… but then I did this. :)
I like how one can do hair with it, much different to the pencil and eraser, or pen and white conte…
Thanx again for your comment! Very much appreciated!

very nice! I’m dying to try one of those, too! :-)

Oh I was so excited when I saw the ad in the junk mail… its just a generic brand one, nothing fancy, but its good sized, (roughly A4, the drawing area is only slightly smaller) and it had an awesome price tag! under $80AUD :)
But I havnt been using it as much as I imagined I would of :).. But time will probably change that! :)
    thanx for commenting! Always appreciated!

This is fabulous work, particularly for a first!!
I’ve always wanted to try this technique….are they very expensive to buy??

  • dimarie replied

    Thanx Alexandra :)
    Appreciated so much!
I’ve been dying to try one of these for ages too, tho I am glad thru lack of a graphics pad that I’ve learnt how to manipulate the mouse quite good as its a handy skill to draw with a mouse…
The one I own is a generic brand so to answer the question of expense, I’d say, Its quite cheap/inexpensive for what it is.
Waycom or whatever they’re called, the main big wigs of the graphics tablets.. they are expensive, even for a tiny little 4X6 you’ll be payin over $100…
    this one is 30.5cm X 25.5 cm. the drawing area is 25cm X 16cm.
I bought this one from Aldi, was one of their special buys… there is also a similar brand to my one that seems identical only its black, and mine is blue, and they’re for sale online over at OO.com.au… I sent you a bm with the links and stuff :)
