TOP 10 The OTHER Capital Cities (The Other Side of Italy)
Ogni meraviglia ha la sua luce…….. every wonder has its own light.
This shot was taken inside Palazzo Madama, a palace in Torino, Northern Italy.
Although no longer used as a palace, this magnificent building has provided residence to the House of Savoia, Ludovico of Acaja, Christine Marie of France and Marie Jeanne Baptiste de Savoie-Nemours (who gave it its current name Madama meaning Madame).
A definite French influence can be felt in its interior design, with its beautiful patterns of blue and white.
The palace is an attraction of Torino and is well-known for its Baroque-style white stone facade designed by the architect, Filippo Juvarra.
Today, Palazzo Madama houses Torino’s Museo Civico d’Arte Antica (the City Museum of Ancient Art). It is also UNESCO Heritage listed.
