“Crude Women” is a term coined by Gulf Coast resident and BP oil spill survivor, Heather Dixey. She explains that, since April 2010, she has been able to connect with a number of women who have sort of become “accidental activists” because of the devastation the BP oil spill has wreaked on the Gulf coast’s residents and ecosystems. Many of them, she says, share inspiring traits like strength, perseverance, and determination. Although it was, unfortunately, the oil spill disaster that brought them together, “Crude Women” are undeniably a force to be reckoned with. Check out Heather’s blog

Wildlife biologist, artist, writer, and general misanthropist who had to find a way to make some $ before ending up living naked in the woods, eating berries and wiping my butt with newspaper articles about Jersey Shore (not that those are bad things, but I wouldn’t be able to continue my work for wildlife!). I’m a sarcastic person, so I hope other sarcastic peeps will like what I put out :)
