First of 4 digital artworks created for a WWF FDC envelope issue. Weird as it may sound, there really is a bird who is named after the girth of it’s knees, which, I have to say, don’t look that thick to me…as bird’s knees go…

Great painting O, this looks like a very strong bird.
Well maybe it has strong knees! Thanks Raj.
Beautiful portrayal, very realistic and nice colours, must keep my eye out for the FDC too. I collected quite alot of them and have 2 folders full, not for a long time now though :O)
Thanks Vanessa. The place to get the FDC’s is HereDon’t panic if you see it’s in German. They have an English version. You’ll find it at the top left of the home page. X

Thanks Warren. Don’t think we get them here, but if we do, I’ve never seen or heard of one. When I got the job, I had no idea what it was I was going to paint! I must remember ‘Dikkop’ I can think of a few people it applies to…
I think that with that expression any strange name can be forgiven:-))) I feel I can almost smell the ocean…..
O, you’ve done it again… your painting is perfection. love the look on the bird’s face…. and the colors are outstanding… i have never heard of a thick knee either… must not have them on the east coast of the USA either… i think i’ll look them up and see what i can find… fabulous work… well done!! b.
