I have been a freelance illustrator for over 35 years. For the last 10 or so, I have been working almost exclusively digitally, using Corel Painter x V on PC. I do NOT manipulate photographs to create my paintings. I use photos for reference purposes only.
Most of my work is for the WWF Stamp Collection.

such a beautiful fish…. the colors in this are perfect…. and i don’t know why, but any deep sea fisherman would love to catch this “big fish”!!!
Beautiful rich colours, and a great sense of powerful movement.
Thanks CP. As you might have guessed, in the ref photo I used for this, the poor critter was on a line, which I had no hesitation in omitting. Can’t abide this so called ‘sport’. Those who pursue it, suffer from what I like to call ‘The Ernest Hemingway Syndrome’… which basically means one who indulges in any of that macho posing bull**** , which involves hunting, running with the bulls, bullfighting etc etc. The guy should have stuck to his typewriter and done something more creative with his life. Here endeth the lecture…Particular ‘bete noire’ of mine…you may have noticed… X

these are the most awseome fish! you so rock…yet again!!!
Thanks PA. I’m not a ‘political’ person, but it would be nice if the people who choose to hunt these magnificent fish would be content to have a picture on the wall, rather than a ‘trophy’, but in the real world… Still, if I make ONE ‘convert’ I will consider I achieved a small victory. You rock too Hon. Thanks for your continued support. XH

Wiki has further information on this fish, which also is a victim of the long line fishing industry – a dreadful practice that needs to be banned.
