This is not a photograph or photo manip. It is a digital painting created using Corel Painter vX with a Wacom Touch tablet. It is based on a photo I took on my iPhone of a tree in my backyard. It took several hundred hours to paint over a number of weeks.

I have been a freelance illustrator for over 35 years. For the last 10 or so, I have been working almost exclusively digitally, using Corel Painter x V on PC. I do NOT manipulate photographs to create my paintings. I use photos for reference purposes only.
