I love the textures in the tree trunks my friend. Excellent work!

  • Thanks Ken,
This series of works concentrate on creating mood with a misty background and high level detail in the bark. I tried to ensure the bark looks sappy in places giving greater focus on the subject and making the perspective more atmospheric.

    Thanks

Oh man, this feels like the very essence of Gum Trees. Those sharp focus of highlighted details in the front just so helps the depth you have achieved with that atmospheric background. It’s becoming your trademark to make these things real. Love it my friend!

  • Hi Randy,
Your comments are fabulous. I really look forward to seeing how much you invest into viewing the work. You are spot on by the way. As I mentioned to Ken above. This is exactly what I tried to achieve.

    Thanks again.

love the colours you have chosen here Diko…oh would love to be a fly on your wall and watch you paint..but you might swat me! gorgeous light in this one.

  • IHi Linda,
When i started to paint this I wasn’t sure if it was as my mind envisaged, However when I got into it it made perfect sense to have the blue hues in the background and the trees looking more vibrant.

Sometime I wish I was a fly on the wall watching me paint too…. then I could remember some of the moves I made.

I have enjoyed seeing these gorgeous trees in other pieces of your work, but this piece with the muted background really pulls the focus onto them, Diko. Excellent work.
