This is really interesting, the trunks are stretching up to the skies. I like your thinking behind this one.
Diko
Hi Emma,
Last weekend I spent time looking at more ghost gums and have new inspiration for more works. It’s great when others get what your doing thanks
Teacup
Oh yes, nothing better that to watch the sky between the branches and the leaves. My youn son and I love to do this… Just love this piece. x
Diko replied
I love this picture as it represents a fun type of escapism for me, looking up and dreaming whilst the leaves rustle in the wind. Glad you like it too

Diko replied
Hi Kamaljeet,
I have always wanted to do a painting this way. Thanks for your kind words

Diko,
Another great piece. It brings me back to my childhood when I would lay on the grass and look through the trees to see the clouds.
Even then the pictures in the clouds were amazing.
Thank you for bringing back childhood memories for me.

I spotted this the other day, but didn’t have time to stop and comment. I HAVE laid down on the ground and looked up at the trees like this! I even thought of doing a painting but it was a few years ago, and you have just reminded me about it. Wonderful perspective.
Diko
Hi Lynda,
Glad you like this, You can still do your own version, I look forward to seeing it

Love the perspective …and yes, I have laid on the ground and looked up through the trees , but didn’t think about painting from that angle…have photographed though.
Diko replied
Hi MrsWillow,
I am glad you have laid down and looked up at the trees…
Usually when I lay down and look up through trees I day dream and meditate.. Only when I started painting did I think it might make a good painting subject.
Maybe you can convert one of your photos into a painting like this

I do love the perspective on this painting. Your use of color-blending is mesmerizing.
PS How have you chosen your name DIKO?
Diko replied
Hi Elizabeth,
Sorry I missed the opportunity to reply to you before now.
Firstly, really glad you like the painting
As for the name Diko it is my real given first name. It has not been shortened or changed. My full name is Diko Palibrk. It is of Yugoslav origin.
I once received a call from a lady wanting to invite me to an upcoming function, she enquired as to the correct spelling of my name. In a string I letters I blurted out “d i k o p a l i b r k”, There was a pregnant pause… I said “It’s a good Irish name”, another pause and I said thanks & goodbye. I received an invite spelling my name as if I was Irish – Dick O’Palibrk it said. I was rolling in laughter….
Thanks for asking

Great perspective. I like doing just this sort of thing at the local wildlife park. There’s usually a bunch of crows or a squirrel or two up in the branches. :) Nice work.
Diko replied
Hi Sharon,
Thanks for your comments.
I love the way the branches twist and turn as they try and touch the sky.

Greeting cards must be at least 920×1320, either which way.
I love this painting, and I’m glad to know there’s another person who likes to like under trees and look up! First, you did such a nice job with the bleached wood of the gum trees, and then with the leaves so high up you did a lovely job of showing them with light and shadow, and with no odd curvature on them. You seem to have had fun painting this work.
May I suggest a few more Groups for this lovely painting?
and please excuse me if I duplicate anythingWA Red Bubblers
