Chapter 3 –The Renegade Ship
Jojo was getting more stable and confident as Annie continued to help him with her tractor beam routine she designed to help Jojo regain his equilibrium. “You’re looking good Jojo!” Shouted Annie when Jojo finally whizzed around the rock formation with ease and agility. “Thanks Annie, I feel really great!” An elated Jojo called out. “Let’s rest for a while.” He added. “Okay, sounds good!” An equally elated Annie shouted back. Jojo slowed down and hovered to rest right next to Annie atop the rocky mesa. “Phew,” said Jojo, that was fun!” He was beaming from spinner to stabilizer when Annie looked at him. “I am just relieved that you’ve regained your equilibrium, Jojo.” Annie said softly, her titanium alloy gleaming reddish in the setting sunlight. “Oh, me too!” Replied Jojo.
“Jojo?” Said Annie in a questioning tone. “What, Annie?” “Can we talk about what happened, and why you crashed?” She asked, almost afraid of the answer. “I figured I probably should tell you about it Annie, and I’ve been looking for a way to bring it up; I just didn’t want to scare you.” Said Jojo with a somber tone in his usually soothing voice. “So, what did happen then?” Annie quizzed. Jojo exhaled in a sigh and started to tell a most disturbing tale to the attentive Annie, who was hanging on his every word for more reasons than she cared to think about. “I was just on a bit of a romp around the ocean, nothing out of the ordinary, when I noticed there was this spaceship I didn’t recognize on my six, who was mimicking every move I made.” “Whoa” Said Annie.
