Shades of Autumn
This lovely Dark Eyed Junco was happy to sit atop my garden fence, with a few additions in this of course…It’s only a bit less than a month away from autumn here in the mountains, so I am celebrating… ;-)

This is a really sweet preview to Autumn. The Junco is an adorable bird, Zoe. Looks like he is admiring the pretty rose.

Another fine little piece of image manipulation.
As summer slowly (?) turns to Autumn (or Fall in the States) we are already seeing the trees take on their golden mantle. The last day of Summer is around 21st September, although the clocks don’t go back (signalling the end of British Summertime) until around 01:00 on Sunday 26th October. I think an apology is needed here.
To those who understand that Summer ends in Mid August, my reference relates more to the Summer Solstice (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Summer_Solstice)
Apologies for the use of your page on this subject:

Hi Lensman, thanks for the solstice info. I think what I was trying to convey is that up here where I live (the town is at 6,000 feet above sea level mind you), hints of the impending ‘fall’ are already popping up, like some leaves on the crabapple tree in my garden are turning, and the crabapples are already orange in shade, so it just is basically a ‘hint’ of the season to come, which I love dearly! ;-) Thanks so much..

Thanks very much Mick, I know you really like summer, not me, I can’t wait for autumn rains and colours change, then the winter snow, now that’s in my wheelhouse for sure..;-)
