The Common Raven (Corvus corax) is the world’s largest passerine at 24 inches in length, a wingspan of 53 inches, completely black with a glossy sheen overall. They are known for being quite mischievous and steal golf balls and remove rivets from aircrafts.
This large passerin was quite vocal, despite my presence.
Certainly has a lot to say for himself…what a grand shot.
This raven was so busy responding to another’s vocals that he or she didn’t even notice me taking this photo from the truck only feet away from him. Thanks again for the lovely comments. Francine
i find the crows and ravens to be very intelligent and not so easy to photograph and catch the detail properly but you did fabulous with your capture
It tend to agree with on their level of intelligence Lynda. It has been my experience that they are very sociable and family oriented perhaps making up for their lack of plumage colours. ;-) And I do agree that they can also be quite challenging to photograph with their sheen plumage. Thanks for taking the time to leave such lovely comments Lynda. They are truly appreciated. Francine
