Being in tune with your subject, such as this Horned Lark (Eremophila alpestris), is quite advantageous as a photographer. This bird suddenly tilted its head to one side, to observe the skies above and remained still as a statue. Sure enough the lark drew my attention to the predator; a Merlin flying high above.
