What a little beauty. Excellent capture.

  • My first time getting up so close to one of these birds. T’was a great day. ;-) Subject, weather and lighting all going my way on this one.
Thanks so very much Bunny. I truly appreciate your time and kind compliments.

This is a great capture!! How did you get so close to this one? I could never get close enough to get a shot like this!! Well done!!

  • Hi Blair, I hear you… these birds are usually quite skittish. This one was foraging on its own and it is the first time that I’ve gotten so close to one. I’m thinking… that may be the trick to approaching them… (not in a flock, but on their own)??? Lady luck was on my side for this subject, weather and lighting. Thanks for taking the time and leaving such a nice compliment Blair.

Very nice Francine,,,reminds me of a similar experience I had a few years ago when a few landed on Ottawa Beach in September..

  • I’ve never had much luck getting close to a flock of them, but this single bird find worked for me. He/she was parading back and for along the water’s edge. Thanks for taking the time to leave me such lovely comment Gary. Coming from you it means a lot to me. ;-)
