The Blue Profile 3 by DigitallyStill

Available to buy on…

This photo of a Blue Jay’s (Cyanocitta cristata) profile was taken in Shirley’s Bay, ON (Canada) with a Canon EOS 40D, a Canon 300 f2.8 lens and a Canon 1.4t.c. These Jays are very tame and flock to humans. This photo was taken right next to my vehicle as I stopped the engine. They are inquisitive and can be aggressive to their own kind.

Cropping and post treatment done with AP.

Very cool look, Francine, well done.

  • Thank you very much Michael. Post treatment can turn a plain photo into something a little more attractive. Isn’t software programs wonderful when it comes to the variating end results? This guy was no more than 5 feet away from the truck. With a shallow depth of field and snow as the background, this is one way to take a plain portrait photo to “the level”. ;-)
