Caution; they’re our feathered friends by

Here in Eastern Ontario, it is not unusual to see a mixed flock of wintering Sparrows and Allies landing in the middle of our rural roads. This flock consisted of Snow Buntings, Lapland Longspurs and Horned Larks. Being out in the open areas, strong gushes of wind, the sound of oncoming vehicles and movement in general will flush these birds, making it rather challenging to get a good view of them. Binoculars are a definite advantage.

This photo was taken with a Canon EOS 20, a 300mm f2.8 lens and a 1.4t.c.
