The Flame-faced Tanager (Tangara parzudakii) is a species of bird in the Thraupidae family. It is found in Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Venezuela. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist montane forests.
This one was taken in the Chicaque Natural Park just outside Bogotá, Colombia.
There are over 200 different bird species catalogued in this park and it is a bird-watcher’s paradise for sure!!

I have lived here in Colombia for the past 15 years…doing missionary work…this is my hobby and RB is my family outlet from the hectic pace here in this megatropolis of Bogotá!!

It was amazing. This time of year (dry season) there are more bugs on the loose and hence more birds…this park was just full of them. I sat on the balcony nearly all day just shooting birds (with the camera that is!!)
