Cattleya Hybrid Orchid – There are literally thousands of hybrid varieties of orchids. Each one requires careful genetic study and pollination in order to achieve the desired results. Each one has its own genetic make-up and is unique in its color and design and are as expensive to create as they are to purchase.
This one was taken at the National Orchid Exposition at the José Celestino Mutis Botanical Garden in Bogotá, Colombia.
The Cattleya orchid is the National Flower of Colombia, South America

Thank you so much Lyn!! These really are this color…the sunshine helped quite a bit to reflect the color! It’s a hybrid and they tend to be a bit brighter than normal!

I forgot to mention…I have the color setting on vivid…maybe that brings out the colors a bit better!! It’s not overly saturated but it does highlight the colors a bit better!

I have a Sony DSC-H5. It’s a point ‘n shoot! There are several color mode settings, sepia, B & W, normal, natural and vivid! Vivid just accentuates the colors more.
