Two peas in a pod!
Two parrotlets, together chatting it up and comparing notes about this photographer who was intent on getting a candid shot of them. They blinked…I won!

OH BLAIR!!!!!! How ADORABLE these little darlings are!!!!!!! Soooooo cute!!!! And a perfect name for this shot as they are exactly pea-green!!!!! My mom always had what we used to call parakeets (but which are now called budgies) ... and I know how they love to chatter and talk!! We only had them one at a time, but their favorite toy was ALWAYS a mirror … it used to break my heart!!! But my mom … oh … I could tell stories you probably wouldn’t believe … but just let me say that SHE had them talking to US!!! YEP!!! Soooo cool!!! I’d sort of forgotten Frosty and Greenie and all the rest until I saw this fabulous picture of yours!!!! LOVE it!!! Thanks for sharing this one!!! Hugzzz!!!
Blair Wainman replied
Thanks so much Lois! These guys were so much fun to watch and I’m sure they said the same about me! Lol! Thanks for sharing your story! I’m glad it sparked a few memories!
RickF

This is so cute, Blair!!! I’m sure there are going to be many people favoriting it (including me!) and it’s bound to win a few challenges, too!!! They are adorable & this is a perfect capture!!!
Blair Wainman replied
Thank you Lynn! You know these birds are not common at this altitude! I’m not sure why they are around but I have seen them a couple of times now and a flock of about 12 is a good indication that they may stick around! That will be great for me! It took quite a while to lock on to these guys as their color just blends in so well! Thanks so much too for the favorite!
Sandy Stewart

Wow Blair I love this shot. Adorable little birdies. I like that the shot is all in different shades of green against the blue sky. Nice contrast.
Blair Wainman replied
Thank you Teresa! It was a challenge to find these guys amongst all the green never mind get them with some contrasting blue sky. I’m glad it worked out! i appreciate your comments!

What a sweet moment between them! You were so lucky to be able to capture this shot!! Fantastic!
Blair Wainman replied
Thank you Lisa! It was a great moment this morning as these guys are not habitual residents of this area…normally they are found in warmer climates and lower altitudes.

These guys are so cute Blair. I believe they are what we called Bee Bee Parrots in the pet trade and were very popular as pets for a time. It is much nicer to see them in the wild as nature intended. Fabulous capture!
