Completely escavated from an abandoned salt mine, this underground Cathedral in Zipaquira, Cundinamarca, Colombia is completely carved out of salt and mineral rock from the gigantic vaults where salt had previously been mined.

This really reminds me of a Church design by Japanese architect Tadao Ando called “Church of light”. It has a cross shape in a concrete wall which the sunlight shines through. I really love this; it will be a great inspiration for my architectural studies!
