Glamorgan Cattle were thought to be extinct in Britain until 1979 when a mixed herd of cattle were for sale in Sedlesdcombe, some identified as Glamorgan Cattle.
West Glamorgan County Council bought the Glamorgan cattle and brought them to Margam Country Park in Port Talbot, South Wales, where they can be seen today by visitors.
Glamorgan Cattle originally lived in Glamorgan, Monmouth and Brecon and were excellent milkers, producing high butterfat milk. The cattle were held in high regard by King George III who kept a herd at his farm in Windsor.
