Crow Road
This arose from a game with some friends about all the cliches for death. The goal was to turn them into vernacular.
Crow Road belongs to the following groups:
All Things Poetic, Artistic, Philosophicallisten here
Gone away the crow road,
I’ve packed my bags,
Wrapped up in my shroud,
I don’t look half bad.
See ya ‘round lads,
Had a great time.
Didn’t see it comin’,
Got in its way,
Cut me down,
Like I was summer hay.
So pop the coins,
Into my eyes,
No point goin’ cheap,
On that final ride.
Yeah, for whom the bell tolls,
It tolls for thee,
Push me out in the sun boys,
‘cause now I’m free.

Thanks Jen,
The funny thing about that song is that I’ve tried to rerecord it because it’s in mono and the mike wasn’t properly orientated, but I could never quite capture it again.

I had a peak at some of your ways to famous poems, a very intriguing idea. I’m going to try and investigate #4. How do i know if I hit on the right answer?
For example, if I guess right you’ll fess up or …?
You’re right it’s weird how I had some downloads and no comments. Presumably the people who down loaded it liked it because you can listen before downloading.
Though I’m happy if anyone listens. I remember writing and sharing stories before the Internet and ribbing those around me for getting so excited about what they were doing when we all knew no more than like 8 people were ever going to see what we’d written.

i’d forgotton the days before the internet. i don’t think they were real. perhaps it was an other-dimension dream state where we were waiting ‘til the techno-gods created the worldwideweb ?
now y’re like a pop idol – y could probably have sexual relations wt #4 too. he’s quite liberal.

this is so well done ~ your voice and composition of both verse and lyrics and melody is so beautiful and sweet ~ I wonder if you’ve done other pieces like this ~ written and recording ~ if not, you might want to ~ you have many many gifts xx
