For A Friend

This poem was written by my sister, click here to see more from my sister an amazing writer. I told her about a friend of mine who lost her dear husband in 9/11. I told her a few things about my friend and asked her to write a poem to her from me. Dear friend, you know who you are and I hope you like this poem.

An Artist’s Angel

No matter how dark the world becomes
there is a light that seems to shine through
It reminds me of the art you create
like threads of hope catching early morning dew.

In times of unendurable hardship
Creativity seems to take hold
Healing moments are born and begin to emerge
New stories spread their wings and unfold.

I’ve imagined what you’ve seen
and then marvel at the beauty in your art
I believe that someone special still guides you
Even though so sadly, you are apart.

I picture an angel leaning to whisper softly
The words "Go For It’ in your ear
That image to me is one that even I can believe
It helps me hold my own memories ever near.

Very nice D! Its a great gift to your friend and your sis is very good!

  • Thank you my dear. It took me a bit to get her link in there right. She hasn’t put anything on RB yet, but I encouraged her to start a portfolio and put some of her wonderful works of writing on her. This is a great place for inspiration!
