In Pen/Ink 450 X 520 on canvas board ( May 1983 ) Scale 1-1,000,000
My obsession with detail began with maps from a very early age so here is a surviving example from 1983 when I was in the process of creating my very own universe “The Kingdom Of ID” which over the years evolved into something more than just a storybook fantasy.
“The Kingdom Of ID” or “The Chartered Kingdom Of My Soul” (1992 ) The Complete Map.
Amazing, John. Cartography – real or otherwise – is an art.
I love studying and looking at cartography and the way the typography, the towns and roads form intricate patterns and shapes much like abstract art. Always a pleasure Leny.
i used to make maps in the army and this is commendable work
Wow! We do have a lot in common my friend.. I used to work at the weather bureau drawing synoptic charts and at the dept of crown lands drawing up roads and boundaries for townships and shires.
