  • Hi Walt, I saw this model on an old postcard while in Shanghai. She was originally holding a Pipa ( Chinese Fiddle ) but changed it to an electric guitar after visiting Hard Rock Cafe, Shanghai.

Very Charming;reminds me of 1950’s Roadside Ads:-)

  • I’m a big fan of those roadside ads. The Iconic Coppertone ad is my favourite! :))

Speaking of that ad;they’ve had it up on the way back from Anaheim(Home of DisneyLand) for like 40-something years(at least) It’s mechanical,so the dog is always pulling down the little girl’s Bathing Suit bottom repeatedly. I’ll bet you can find it online, cause your right about it being a classic:-)

  • I read somewhere that Sandra Dee was the model for that ad. Don’t know if that ad would go down well these days.

Actually,I think it was a (very) young Jodie Foster, whatever happened to her?(lol) I don’t know I think because it was so innocent, that’s what makes it so charming. But yes,a lot of people are sensitive about children being exploited but if they mean that kind of ad;their completely off the mark(in my opinion)
