a sense of decadence and the vanity of power- nice portrait- although I miss the head on a platter-

  • Thank you Fred. A great compliment but if I included the head on the platter it would have been information overload. The banana I think says it all.

the banana was a little too painful to comment upon-

    i haven’t – yet.
i’d love to see a live performance of it.

  • I’m with you on that. There are not many productions made of Salome. I’m yet to see one here in Melbourne.

“Bring me the head of Johnny boy so I can sit on it and twirl.” The visual metaphors including a glory hole of holiness the banana holy communion of chewy chewing…the boys…Oscar was so wild and Aubrey a wraith of black and white with a fantastic penis stylist…both so out of place in a hypocritical world too early and too late…Wilde dead broke and ignored at death a one of a kind genius and Beardsley repentant and repudiated his work masterpieces each and every illustrations…both died Catholic at their requests…applause applause bravo John very decadent.

  • Touche with Oscar and Aubrey Valente! They were shining beacons in a sea of grey and hyprocrisy.
I’ve always envisaged Hedy Lamar in the role of Salome as she was a ravishing Delilah. Probably not as
disappointing when a out of work/out of contract Sandra Dee in the late 60s was set to star in an X Rated version of Alice In Wonderland in 1968 was to be directed by Roger Vadim but never eventuated because of budget issues. If only!

  • I think I might redo this in colour. Next project.
