this is really a wonderful portrait- the expression speaks very directly- yet to encapsulate in words presents a challenge- it is enigmatic-innocent yet knowlegdeable- adult yet with traces of a child- etc. etc. a number of things- it really is great-
Fred, This is a wonderful compliment. Your comments perfectly described what I was trying to achieve here. It’s actually one of my personal favourites drawn many years ago, but it’s only now I’ve decided to share it with the world so to speak. Thank you once again.
what an expression—john,it is sad, you are an exception artist in your own, world of art making-and you are not know- in a greater,way?-dam art is so fickle-who gets the magic wan?who knows—the only thing i have going for me is imagination on my faces fun- you have real talent and imagination—this is a lovely face with much expression of its soul
Hi Walt, This would have to be one of my favourite portraits. I did this one in my teens. I must have been in love/infatuated by this girl at the time because I gave this all my heart and soul.

Thank you Marja, sometimes I am but not all the time! :))
yes, love in the teens is awful- love anytime is awful—cus it seems never to be balanced—ever?—but love is the price we pay for natures,,pullings on our need to have a sharing in our lives..if we get lucky- we hit magic, but too many times, to be two and keep one, is a trick,oh well, not my problem any more-glad you found your-one- in time, yes this is a nice drawing that now means even more
