Syd!!! Very cool. He certainly helped to open my mind :)) This is a wonderful tribute!!!
He was such a beautiful looking man as well with wonderful penetrating eyes! Pink Floyd were much poorer after he had been fired from the group.

Awesome artwork John, love your attention to detail :)
Thank You Adam for appreciation. It was a labour of love. Cheers John
He lives in a light house now doesnt he? Great work John
Thanks Josh! Syd died in Jan 2008 but I think you might be thinking of Mike Oldfield.
Hi Walt, I’m sure you’ve heard of Pink Floyd, pioneers of experimental contemporary music in the 1960s. Almost every serious artist growing up in my generation had Pink Floyd playing in the background while painting and drawing away burning the midnight oil. :)
pink floyd?/was he a commie pinko?haha i had girls growing up then , so yes i heard them-weither i wanted to or not—your not wanting to hear this, but i painted by pbs radio when this still played classical—sorry-and worst yet- i loved italian opera too and all your kuzzin singing—i put on your kind of music when not painting—but then i am eclectic in music like my art styles have a good day there
I’m like you too Madvlad. My tastes in music are eclectic. My dad used to hate my music too especially The Beatles & Pink Floyd and the latter stuff but he has mellowed over the years. Now I listen to his music and love it too. Re: Frank Sinartra, Perry Como, Nat King Cole etc etc
i used to think, mario lanza was god, i loved your dad,d three some too franks i did it my way-always – left me in tears-perry was a great human being too,and nat had ole mona lisa to him self, at noon lunch brake in the 6th grade i,d come home for lunch and sing along with ole bing, too,on the radio-there have been a wonderful group of singers over the years, no one will replace pavaratti in this life time-he went so fast? it broke my heart—thank god for youtube , cus you can hear all my?dead hero,s in song- time for bed here been too hot 90f- thanks for your notes john god bless you n your family
Thank you for your comment Tah! :))
Wonderful tribute. Beautiful eyes. xx
I thought the only way to pay tribute to this legend is create an iconic type portrait using the Filmore/psychedelic look. Yes, I agree Syd’s eyes were magnificent! :))
I have a book about Syd Barrett and can remember when See Emily Play was released (yes, I’m that old), so I really appreciate this.
Thank you Dave. I grew listening to Syd and Pink Floyd among other stuff while everyone was listening to fast food pop music. :))
wow !! what a wonderfful tribute to syd !! "misunderstood "? not by everybody :)
Definitely not misunderstood my me and his legion of fans. He was a genius! :))
