Graphite/Ink On A1 Canvas paper.

“I woke up as the sun was reddening; and that was the one distinct time in my life, the strangest moment of all, when I didn’t know who I was – I was far away from home, haunted and tired with travel, in a cheap hotel room I’d never seen, hearing the hiss of steam outside, and the creak of the old wood of the hotel, and footsteps upstairs, and all the sad sounds, and I looked at the cracked high ceiling and really didn’t know who I was for about fifteen strange seconds. I wasn’t scared; I was just somebody else, some stranger, and my whole life was a haunted life, the life of a ghost.”
― Jack Kerouac, On the Road

Wickedly awesome! Love how you faded the characters into the background to give that apparition type feel to the picture! Excellent work, John.

  • You’re right Jennifer, I tried to depict the atmosphere of a seance by fading out the ghost like images. Thank you commenting and complementing. :D

Love the way you drew this, where the surrounding people are like spirits. Also also love the way you’ve effectively darkened much of the image to give the girl the most light; but not only that, but the manner in which it is done looks like a real cast shadow/darkness rather than colouring. Lovely work John.

  • That’s the mystery Mui-Ling. Are they spirits or living people? Always appreciate your comments and compliments.
