This is a painting my eldest son Dante did in his first month of school aged 5. It’s a personal favourite of mine.

    Yep.ADORABLE!Just loving all those shapes and textures and energy. I’m such a huge fan of kid art, they just break it down to all it needs to be and it’s such a joy to see every time :-)..I have a picture my 19 yr old son did when he was about the same age, it’s an octopus.He filled the whole page with simple colour and shapes and I just love it. Awesome work Dante!! :-D

    Totally agree with you! I think most children have a greater sense of colour and form than most adults give them credit for but seem to lose it later when they are ” conditioned” by conservative elements in our society.

    He is named after Dante Aligheri, the Italian poet who wrote ” The Divine Comedy”.

    Yes, Dante is very expressive and he has a vivid imagination. I always encourage creativity with my children, I think its very important. :)

    absolutely.Art should be about what comes from inside.It is a very personal expression of thoughts and emotions.I think children do it so well because it is just an instinctive and immediate response to stimulus. Us grown ups think too much :-D

    He has such powerful brush strokes, he is very confident, and that’s good!!:))
    Collect all his work and let him have his own portfolio,encourage him and make him proud of his own creations, this is perfect age, congrats to a very talented and gifted father!! :D

    Dante has a very strong personality and he is very expressive with his colours, even more so than me. He already has an impressive portfolio! I wonder whether there is an age limit for Redbubble? :))

    It hangs above my drafting table upstairs. I look at it everyday whenever I sit down to paint or draw. It gives me inspiration! :)

    I know he has a fantastic collection of work including this one. He has a sensitive and mature approach to colour already. :)))
