Introducing leggings. You’ll never run out of inspiration.

Shearing is all over and we’ve all got our cheques.
Roll up your swag, we’re off on the tracks!
The first pub we come to, it’s there we’ll have a spree.
And everyone that comes along, it’s ‘Come and drink with me!’
Click go the shears boys, click click click!
Wide is his blow and his hands move quick.
The ringer looks around and is beaten by a blow,
and curses the old snagger with a bare-bellied yeo.

This series, taken today on my farm (16/12/08) is in honour of my Dad – a wool industry man his entire life. I grew up listening to his stories of the wool sheds, complete with tales of drunkard shearer’s cooks!

Excellent series of images, Di, and your sentiment is evident. Reminds me of one of my favourite movies: Sunday Too Far Away.

sensational series Di,, many years ago during my school holidays I would spend time on my cousins sheep farm out near Dubbo. It was great fun and seeing your images brings back a few memories of the shearing sheds.
    Beautiful photography Di

  • thanks David and I’m happy these shots have brought back fond memories!! There’s just no where else quite like an Aussie shearing shed!
