Living Inside Out

“Why do light hearted people let their wings wither when they come across negative people? You always have a choice in the matter: to be affected or unaffected.”

I write because it has always been a passion of mine, it gives me such a strong sense of self. I write to breathe and let my spirit run free. I really want to use my writing to help the community and help people feel more connected and alive.

There looms ahead of me the shadow of some kind of form which a bundle of journals might attain to. I might in the course of time learn what it is one can make of this loose, drifting material of life, finding another use for it than the use I put to it.

What sort of work should it become? I should like to come back after a year or two, and find that the collection had sorted itself and refined itself into a mould, transparent enough to reflect the light of my life.

I’m not sure we do have a choice, if your life and heart is open, and shutting yourself down is no way to live.

This quote I wrote at the top was talking more about how many people let themselves become affected with different situations in life, this talks about not letting it affect you, to still stand whole no matter what life brings. I meet a woman once who had an eye disease that caused her to go blind early in life. She then ten years on fell from a train platform and lost her legs from the knees down…this woman I meet on the street she was smiling….I visit her regularly and she has the most amazing outlook on life…full of wisdom but more so her optimism is overwhelming, compassion, she is still full of joy, her personality still stands strong.

Yes, we all must look past the people who have no eyes to see values in others. I think you have the right perspective on all this.

Dianna, thanks for posting the message of optimism and wisdom. I believe we are all alchemists learning to remember how to turn the dross into gold. If you happen to read the slightly negative poem I just posted, please don’t be too hasty—I’m not all gloom I swear! In regards to writing, it sounds like your someone who wants to write not just for a living but also to enlighten humanity, so may the force be with you!

great to return my gaze upon your words – I think so much of writing is about the release in a given moment – it is precious in the moment and sometimes that should be enough. But I do know what you mean it would be great if we could look over our shoulders one day, and discover that all that passion filled expression has turned into a poignant sculpture, patterned fabric or even just a few more ligh bulbs goin off in our brains.

Reason, elusive, on the wing. We think we’ve grasped it in our clenched fist. But when we open our hand to be certain, we find it has slipped skillfully through our fingers. Please keep writing!
