My amazing Mother graduated to Heaven this Spring and there are times when I miss her immensely. Recently when I was singing a worship song I felt so close to her again and I realized that when we sing praises to God, at those special moments, Heaven and Earth touch hands for a brief time. This has been such a wonderful comfort to me. Hopefully you too can find peace in this as well.

A special thanks to JacqueLynn, http://www.redbubble.com/people/jacquelynn for sharing how David’s prayer in1 Chronicles 29:11-13 is such an amazing representation of praise to God. Take a look, you will be amazed!

Painting is a way for me to express the beauty I see around me. I am most content when I am outside and able to be experiencing the beautiful and peace in our world. This beauty also inspires me to illustrated Bible verses that have been so helpful to me as I travel through life. My desire is that others will find encouragement and hope through these paintings in my collection titled The Picture of Scripture. I believe God’s word never comes back empty.

So much better with the abstract image, don’t you think! Is this the same loose piece you were working on the other day? I like the angled lines coming out from the center.

  • This is a new one, I came home from church yesterday and it just worked. Thank you sooooo for the encouragement to try a loose abstract image for this! :-)

Very nice, Diane! Love the phrase: ‘graduated to heaven’; I’ve been Looking for something that was more appropriate than: ‘passed’ or ‘died’, etc.//My only daughter graduated to heaven 11 yrs. ago now and it seems like yesterday when I think of her. It was Oprah who shared…to daily praise God; I’ve been listing what I’m grateful for every night before I fall asleep: I never finish…. .One of my FAVorite vs. is: I Chron.29:11-13. Check it out; it Fits this piece of yours.

  • Hi Jacque, it seems we never can fill the hole that is left when someone we love leaves this earth but it does help when we know they have “graduated” to a wonderful place! What a wonderful way to drift off to sleep, I needed that reminder as I have had such a busy head with my mon’s estate issues lately. I just looked up 1 Chron 29:11-13 and it is so beautiful. Years ago I had memorized this but it is no longer in my memory bank so thank you for the wonderful reminder!!!

Lovely interpretation. The painting really complements the words. Lovely watercolour textures too.

  • Thanks for coming on by Jacki and your very thoughtful comment. I do so enjoy playing with colors and textures. Sometimes when I get stuck, that is how I free up my creativity. You just never know what the colors will do when allowed to be free!
