This pair of horses were “horsing” around in the pasture biting each others rumps. I’ve since learned from uploading this that this is a grooming procedure that horses do, little did I know not ever owning horses. Glad I chose this image for you all.

Or…….“You scratch my back, I’ll scratch yours” ;0) Cute shot.

  • thanks Pam, yes I thought of that one too. I was waiting for one to get angry at the nips, but that didn’t happen, lol

My horses do this all the time, I think it’s a mutual grooming behavior. I also see them lay down in this position…back to back with their heads in opposite directions. So they have a better view of the entire area in case of danger. Even though they are in a safe environment, instinct tells them this is the safest way to rest.

  • aww really? I know nothing about horses or their care, but I love seeing them and photographing them. thanks for the infor hon

You just knew you would get me with this wonderful image.. Excellent capture and certainly brings me pleasant memories..

  • thanks so much Carol, glad you like it. I love horses, just never owned one. Had one of our daughters who wanted a horse, but we just knew as with the cats and dogs, that the work would be ours to keep it fed and cleaned.
