Well, it goes like this. After driving around for an hour looking for nice animals, I spotted this newly awakened Skunk crawling on the snowbank. It has just awoken from hibernation, maybe a bit early because since it was a warm melting snow day, I think his bed got wet! Photographed at

My goodness hon, he is gorgeous. I don’t think I’ve ever seen this beauty so much alive. Superb capture.
it was like a little show – the snow was melting and he just woke up it looked like, he was sinking with every footstep finding it hard to walk, but he found a chip bag in the ditch and had his head stuck in it for a crumb, that one didn’t turn out well enough to add here. I thought hey, why not photograph it! Glad you like it, thanks much!

Something I try to steer our dogs away from! Well captured! Looks like you are doing very well with that 50D, and are ready for Alaska.
I know all about that Randy! Been there with skunk/dog encounters in my lifetime. My dog was in the car, as was I, using the monopod, lol. I think I can get used to this camera, but it sure is hard.
