What an amazing feeling to win a challenge against so many absolutely beautiful photos that were submitted. I am delighted, overjoyed, I just can’t explain the feeling of winning the “Large Mammals” challenge in the wonderful group AMERICAS~Rural, Urban, Wild, Free – Expressions of Artists. Thank you, thank you to all the folks who voted for this photo. It’s done well, having been featured twice and now winning a challenge, WOW!

Thank you so much Kira. Yes, the elk in the parks are protected and they see a lot of humans and know we are harmless. You still have to keep your distance though to a degree, they are wild animals after all.
