    wonderful capture. stephen is right – very unusual. however, have noticed “big bird” on my pond is still hanging around! i don’t get it… wonder what will happen now; pond beginning to freeze over.

    thanks Kira, I find the Herons hard to photograph, unless they are busy hunting and don’t notice me….he took off shortly after this shot, it was a toss-up which photo to use.
