This geometric design was assembled from a photo of vegetation on a lake shore in late fall. It consists of six different eight-sided stars repeated around a central 16-sided figure. Kaleidoscope-like reflections make the pattern continuous at all levels, as you can see in these enlarged details.
Very beautiful pattern. You make all of this look so easy!
Thank you. It’s a funny mix of easy and hard. Ideas for designs are always floating around in the back of my mind. When one comes to the surface, there follow a couple of days of tedious work calculating how everything should fit together, entering the data, and debugging it. Once the template is made, then it’s easy and fun to try it on different photos to see what it’s good for. It’s like buying a new lens and using it like crazy for a while.
