The moon through a magnifier "Take 2". Photos included this time!!

I’m quite web dyslexic. I know I have done adding images before but for the life of me couldn’t master it again. Sorry to all those who get tired of repeating “how to”. At this point I yell “COLIN I NEED HELP” (I know why I had kids now) I read and reread and finally looked at my journal where I had done it before only to discover a link I had made to Lisa Kennys journal. “How do I right click???” (I have a Mac) It is easy!!

My son has recently bought a “U beaut” telescope. Not one that can easily be transported by carrying from one location to the next. It has to be dismantled and
re-mantled. Two people to carry the scope then the tripod to follow. The box just fits into the back seat of my car. He has had an interest in astronomy for most of his life and now that he has his own income decided to pursue his hobby. We have spent hours looking at the stars and the moon. He would like to photograph through the telescope but it is proving to be problematic. The moon we thought would be easy, but not so. In the then we used our iphones to take the images through the lens.

These a a couple of the photos taken with my phone

WOW…. Nothin’ wroung with these two images.
I just wish that I could get something like this.
It would open up a new dor for me… Maybe when I retire.?

  • Thanks Larry. I was blown away with this telescope. Maybe one night when it isn’t raining and the skies are clear, Colin will be out stargazing (in our front yard of all places) and you can view the heavens with him.

His aim is to do photography through the scope. Just have to perfect it!

Pretty impressive considering that the shots were taken by an iphone!

  • I must admit I was quite impressed. The view through the telescope was spectacular. Just have to learn how to translate to an image.
