"Love and Liberty" A Valentines Card Fundraiser to benefit our veterans by

BUY A VALENTINE’S CARD TO HELP SUPPORT VETERANS! The artwork of this Valentine’s card was created by Philadelphia artist Kevin J Cooper with the intention to raise funds for a very worthy charity. After some research on charities, and working with the “Think globally, Act locally” mindset, it was decided that The Philadelphia Veterans Multi-Service & Education Center was the perfect choice for the endeavor. The mission of PVSMC is to provide coordinated and comprehensive services to military Veterans, by eliminating barriers for successful transition and addressing needs for independent reintegration into their community. This includes, job training, mental health services, and addressing Philadelphia’s homeless veteran problem. Some homework was done, reviews were read. This organization is really helping our soldiers with the social, emotional, and financial problems that happen after serving their enlistments.
Valentine’s Day, whether you consider it a “Made up” Holiday “created by a committee at Hallmark, or your favorite day of the year, is essentially about one thing… Love. Love is not limited to the romance between couples, or the love we have for our families and pets. Love is helping those in need. What better way to express love than by reaching out to your fellow men and women who put their lives on the line, and sacrificed countless conveniences when called upon to defend freedom and the humane treatment of our brothers and sisters worldwide.
This Valentine’s card entitled “For Love & Liberty” can be given to just about anyone. Kevin had a lot of ideas for creating this card, and they were all wonderful . But he wanted to create a card that wasn’t just exclusive to military couples and families. This card is a great gift for any veteran, regardless of age, or can just be given as an inspirational reminder to bring awareness for our nation’s heroes.
Note that this image is also being made as a print. The objective was to create a useful (and seasonal) product that was affordable for everyone. Most of you will be buying a Valentine’s Day card anyway, so why not help a soldier or sailor out at the same time? However, if you would like to step up your donation for the cause, (or maybe you just REALLY like the art!) you may purchase it at www.redbubble.com by simply choosing “print” rather than “card”. If you do decide to purchase a print, there is also an option for matting and framing through Redbubble.com, so that it will be ready to hang upon delivery. This option would make a great gift for a Vet or a Vet’s spouse or family.
HOW MUCH MONEY IS ACTUALLY GOING TO THE VETS? Great question!!! This is how it works: We are working this effort on a goal orientated basis. So total proceeds equaling $1.00 to $99.00, 10% will be donated. From $100.00 to $199.00 acquired, 20% will be donated. $200.00 to $299.00 acquired, 25% will be donated. $300.00 to $399.00 acquired, 30% will be donated. Get the drift? Keep in mind that this is not an expensive purchase. You will have the option of purchasing a 4”X6” greeting card for $2.90 or a 5”X7” for $4.35. There is also the option for purchasing a post card for $2.32 for a less formal Valentines greeting
