Alliance for Better Access
Australians opposing cuts to psychological services in the ‘Better Access to Mental Health Care’ initiative.
Alliance for Better Access Facebook group
On 1 November 2011 the Australian government cut access to psychological services for people with a mental health disorder from 18 appointments down to just 10 in the ‘Better Access’ to Mental Health Care program. This Facebook Page is a space for discussion for the ‘Alliance for Better Access’ – the name we have given to all people who are opposed to these cuts to services. The group is primarily comprised of mental health consumers and concerned members of the general public, however, it is joined by all of the mental health professions including psychologists, social workers, psychiatrists, general practitioners, occupational therapists and mental health nurses.
