Sunset Beach Panorama II by David Davies

I was really playing with panoramas this day at Sunset Beach, North Shore, Oahu, Hawaii. It really needs an anchor, but at least you get to see how the sea was running. Note the drownee-in-training, in spite of notices and fences everywhere, BEACH CLOSED. There’s always one, isn’t there! Might start a new group ‘One Fool at a Time’!

Sony NEX-5N, 18-55mm zoom.

I’ve been an amateur photographer for as long as I can remember, which at my age is about a couple of weeks! I’ve owned film cameras from Zeiss, Scheider, Leica, Nikon and Olympus, as well as digital cameras from Pentax and Canon, and still have several, if I can ever find them. I currently use a Sony NEX-5N with an 18-55mm zoom lens, and after a year of ownership am still learning all the functions.

Beautiful panoramic view – looks like a giant swimming pool David. Great POV.
    Love Colleen2012

  • You’re right, Colleen, it usually is, but not on that day. The waves were running up to 30 feet high, even though it doesn’t really show on the picture.

You are so right David – we have them on the West Coast beaches all the time but some of ours even do it in groups and go fishing without lifejackets ! Wonderful pano – great colours !

  • Thanks, Roy. I remember a few years back we were here in Hawaii and a tsunami was imminent, and even then, there were jokers on the beach surfing during the first stage, as the water was sucked out to sea. Luckily, the second stage never transpired and the water flowed gently back. Morons!
