Gilbert's Cove Lighthouse III by

A rough day on the rocks surrounding Gilbert’s Cove Lighthouse, Digby County, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Canon PowerShot 710IS

canada, digby county, gilberts cove, nova scotia

I’ve been an amateur photographer for as long as I can remember, which at my age is about a couple of weeks! I’ve owned film cameras from Zeiss, Scheider, Leica, Nikon and Olympus, as well as digital cameras from Pentax and Canon, and still have several, if I can ever find them. I currently use a Sony NEX-5N with an 18-55mm zoom lens, and after a year of ownership am still learning all the functions.

Great textures and lovely contrast between the wet and dry rocks

  • Thanks, Jamie. I kept waiting for a big wave to splash off the rock, but it never came. Until I put my camera away, then the rock vanished in spray! lol

Lovely capture David but come on……rough ! When I was on the North Atlantic run we had to put the lid on the funnel to stop the fireman from falling out !! Lol…..
  • Yes, I know that everything is relative, Roy and I have seen it rougher. When we crossed to London in 1980 we had three days of a Force 9 gale. Great fun to walk past the dining room and hear the cutlery crashing to the floor! The kids went to see a movie down in the guts of the ship and told us of the piano that kept sliding back and fore across the stage!
