The beautiful little village of Riquewihr in Alsace, France, about 27 kilometers south of Strasbourg, the capital of Alsace. The region is still somewhat uncertain as to whether it is French or German, hence the architecture seen in this picture, which is more Germanic than French.

I’ve been an amateur photographer for as long as I can remember, which at my age is about a couple of weeks! I’ve owned film cameras from Zeiss, Scheider, Leica, Nikon and Olympus, as well as digital cameras from Pentax and Canon, and still have several, if I can ever find them. I currently use a Sony NEX-5N with an 18-55mm zoom lens, and after a year of ownership am still learning all the functions.

WOWzer…. A stunning capture David, what amazing buildings.

  • Thanks Don. Most of the buildings in this part of Alsace look like that. I used to live just half an hour away, on the German side of the Rhein.

Super photo David and I love everything about it, from the cobblestone street to the shapes of the buildings. By golly mate, but you were taking great photos even 30 odd years ago!!

    Peter

  • Thanks Peter. The whole of Alsace, on the eastern side of the Vosges mountains, looks just like that, sort of chocolate box pretty. As we lived only a half hour away, on the other side of the Rhein river, we spent a lot of time there.
    Cheers,
