Mount Kenya - Looking South-East towards Batian & Nelion by 

This is the second in a series of three showing Mount Kenya from a helicopter. For a detailed description of the mountain, see Mount Kenya – Looking North towards Nelion.
This shot is taken from the north-west of Batian, the highest peak on the mountain at 5,199 metres (17,057 ft). the second highest peak, Nelian, can be seen on the image just to the right of Batian. The large glacier beyond Nelion is the Lewis Glacier while in the foreground are Northey Glacier (higher) and the Forel Glacier (lower left). The green lake to the right of the image is the Teleki Tarn.

    Wow, it looks beautiful from a helicopter. Great capture. I hiked to the top of this mountain years ago and I remember the steep part at the top all too well!!!!
